The Strategy Session for the 2022/23 term was held on the 23rd of August with the Board of Directors, General Council Members & Past chairmen participation. In this session SLASSCOM's five impact areas such as the talent, global trade & investment, entreprenurship, ESG & policy advocay along with the national level key initiatives were discussed.

The Quality forum of SLASSCOM held their first strategy session for the years 2022/23 with their new board representative Rohith Pradeep on the 1st of September 2022 at Elegance. At this meeting most of the senior members were present and there was knowledge sharing on best practices and brainstorming on the annual plan to meet their objectives in line with SLASSCOM's goals.

The HR forum of SLASSCOM held their annual gathering last month, introducing their new board representative leading the forum, Sampath Jayasundara, CEO of hSenid Business Solutions & PeoplesHR on the 26th of August 2022 at Elegance. At this gathering many forum members old & new gathered to celebrate the forum's achievements during the year 2021/2022. The members had the pleasure of participating in a brief knowledge sharing session conducted by Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri while also engaging in some fun activities planned by the organizing committee.

The Product & Platform Council of SLASSCOM had their physical netwroking session - the main theme is to explore opportunities in the overseas market for Srilankan Product companies. A discussion took place regarding the PPC Overseas Market Access Survey findings.

The 'Volunteers Day Out' was organized by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Forum. It was a fun-filled day to network and get to know each other's forum members and their families whilst basking in the sun with plenty of good food and drinks. This took place on the 27th of August at Jetwing Sea, Negombo.

SLASSCOM recently entered into a partnership with Great Place to Work to encourage more member companies to be certified. The certification will recognise companies for their commitment to providing a positive, welcoming and supporting environment for talent enabling our member companies as well as the IT and BPM industry to attract, retain and upskill talent.

The Key Committee of the SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2022 met up on the 17th of August 2022 at The Steuart by Citrus to celebrate the successful completion of this year's Awards ceremony which recognized the best Innovators in the IT & BPM industry in Sri Lanka. Planning for the SLASSCOM National Ingenuity 2023 is underway and will be announced in the coming months.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation forum of SLASSCOM held its annual planning session to plan for the year 2022/2023 on the 16th of August 2022 at the Boardroom of Elegance. At this meeting, new members were introduced to the forum and resulted in brainstorming the outline of the annual plan, to meet the Startup goals of SLASSCOM.

UAE ambassador to Sri Lanka, H.E. Khaled Nasser AlAmeri hosted SLASSCOM for a meeting to discuss opportunities for UAE and Sri Lankan tech and service sectors

We are excited to announce the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing that took place on 31st Aug, 2022 between SLASSCOM and CICRA Campus. The agreement was signed between the SLASSCOM Chairman Ashique Ali and CICRA Campus CEO, Boshan Dayaratne. The partnership is expected to yield many exciting learning opportunities in the near future.

CMA Sri Lanka is one of the major accountancy qualifications in the island and has a significant student base. Together SLASSCOM and CMA leveraging on our shared interest in the national cause will work together to create much needed capacity and world class talent for the IT-BPM industry. One of the main focus areas is regional expansion creating focused industry specific
content and creating awareness for the global possibilities of the IT-BPM industry.
