Speaking to Ceylon FT, Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM) Chairman and Virtusa Sri Lanka Executive Vice President and General Manager, Madu Ratnayake commended the 2014 Budget's proposals for the development of the IT/BPO sector of the country.
"It's encouraging to note President's ongoing focus to develop the IT/BPO industry in Sri Lanka. Knowledge hub strategy is very crucial for us to move up from the middle income bracket to the next level.
As the country's IT/BPO chamber, we welcome the proposals made to enhance skills, education system, entrepreneurship, tax simplification and board access to technology for rural areas and look forward to a more focused effort to promote the country as a destination for knowledge services," said Ratnayake.
