The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) will host the eighth People Summit, on the theme “Transcending Technology: The Human Factor”, on Friday 22nd March at the Shangri-La, Colombo. This event aims to provide leaders at all levels with pioneering talent management insights and perspectives from renowned global leaders. This annual event attracts over 300 Human Resource (HR) professionals and business leaders representing IT/BPM and other industries. The IT/BPM industry is recognized as a thrust industry within the National Export Strategy (NES) as is promoted globally as the “Island of Ingenuity” for world-class knowledge solutions. The industry goal is to reach US$ 5 billion by 2022, powered by 200,000 skilled jobs in the industry, along with a thriving ecosystem for startup companies.

The theme "Transcending Technology: The Human Factor", will focus on understanding and engaging with employees better, and to know what drives and motivates them. It will also address what companies can do to foster a mentally and physically safe work environment and how such practices can be implemented and sustained. Participants would be able to select a specific track by joining a breakout session addressing Wellness at Work, Flexibility at Work or Engagement at Work. The event consists of a CXO Breakfast Forum from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, followed by the Main Conference from 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
